In the stunningly beautiful part of Co Wicklow, Ireland , called the Glen of the Downs , ECOSHOP was founded in 2003 by Jane Hall. Originally located in a garden centre, the shop was beside the woodlands so valiantly defended by 'eco-warriors' a few years ago. They showed true idealism and love of nature and this spirit lives on in ECOSHOP.

In Spring 2008 the ECOSHOP moved to new premises in the middle of nearby Greystones - a move allowing the shop to grow in many ways.

ECOSHOP is a real shop which started with a selection of cleaning, beauty, baby and gardening products and which grew to include fairly traded goods and organic, fine & local foods, as well as books and clothes. The shop is now Ireland 's largest source of natural, organic and ecologically friendly goods, with over 3,500 product lines.

ECOSHOP has featured on TV many times and been recommended by many magazines and newspapers, including the Sunday Times, Irish Times, Examiner, RTE Guide and Sunday Tribune and Irish Independent. Most of our products are online and we are still adding to the website !

All our products are chosen very carefully for their ecological soundness (materials, air miles, longevity/biodegradability/recylability). We look for products prepared without animal testing, use of sweated labour or non-renewable raw materials. All our products in their different ways help towards promoting a more sustainable way of life and fairer trading.
